Common questions
What does SizeFit for Android need, and what can it open?
Android 10 or later, on a phone or tablet. There’s no account to create. It opens MP4, MOV, MKV, WebM, AVI, FLV and 3GP videos; JPEG, PNG, HEIC, WebP and AVIF photos; GIFs; and PDFs.
How do I add files?
Tap Choose from Gallery to pick videos and photos with Android’s photo picker, or tap + and Choose Files… (Browse Files on the first screen) to pick any file, PDFs included. You can also send a file from another app: Share › SizeFit. Either way SizeFit gets only the files you pick, so it never asks for permission to read your whole gallery.
SizeFit says my file can’t be opened
When SizeFit can’t open a file, it names the reason — usually a codec the device can’t decode. Convert the file to MP4 first, then add the MP4. If only the sound can’t be read, turn on Remove Audio to compress the picture without it.
SizeFit says it can’t fit my file under the limit
When even 480p would need too few bits to be watchable, SizeFit stops instead of exporting an unwatchable video. Trim it, split it into parts, choose a larger limit, or share a link instead. For a photo or PDF, SizeFit says so when even its smallest readable version is over the limit, and saves nothing.
The verification slip is red
The slip lists what failed (for example missing audio or a duration mismatch). Use Try Again with Safe Settings (H.264 video and AAC audio). If it still fails, email us the slip text.
Where are my compressed files?
They stay inside SizeFit until you save or share them. Save to Gallery puts videos, photos and GIFs in your gallery, in the SizeFit album; Save to Downloads puts PDFs in Downloads › SizeFit. With Pro you can choose another folder in Settings › Your Files. Share sends a file straight to another app.
Is my original file safe?
Yes. SizeFit only reads it and never modifies it.
Why don’t photos and videos I picked have a location?
Android’s photo picker removes the location from the photos and videos it hands to apps, to protect your privacy. SizeFit never receives it, so the compressed copy has none either.
Why does SizeFit ask to send notifications?
So you can switch to other apps while it compresses. SizeFit uses notifications only to show a compression’s progress, with a Stop button, and its result. If you don’t allow them, compression still works.
How do I restore Pro?
Open SizeFit and tap Restore Purchase (in Settings or on the Pro screen) on a device signed in to Google Play with the same Google Account you bought it with. That also unlocks Pro on your other Android devices.
I bought Pro on the App Store. Does it work on Android?
No. Purchases on the App Store and on Google Play are separate and don’t transfer. SizeFit has no account that could link the two.
A preset’s size limit is out of date
Let us know — SizeFit downloads the current list of limits without an app update.
Refunds
Purchases on Android are handled by Google Play. Refunds go through Google Play, under Google Play’s refund policies.
